Pregnancy After VSG

Hello,

My husband and I have been trying to conceive for a year now. I decided to get VSG and I am scheduled for August 1, super ready. I was told by my surgeon that it is best to wait 12-18 months after surgery. basically to wait until your weight stabilizes.

My primary doctor who has seen and worked with a lot of patients with WLS history. She told me at 6 months it would be safe enough to try to conceive again after WLS.

Has anyone become pregnant within the first year of WLS and the pregnancy was still healthy? My weight has definitely caused hormonal issues with my body which in turn has made it very difficult to get pregnant( Insulin resistant, high testosterone, irregular periods, hair growth, moodiness, depression, etc.) so this surgery is highly needed but also we yearn for a child. Any answers/experiences would help.
