12 months program

hey guys so i have anthem blue cross blue shield va their requirement for weight loss surgery is a weight management program for 12 months i can get a call once a month from a health coach my question now i start loosing the weight im 3 months now into the program im afraid by the time i finish i will have a lower bmi and then they will deny me surgery ? can that happen? also what do you guys know about type of insurance i have does it cover all surgery? thanks

IVe been asking this question a lot too since my BMI is right at 40. All the answers I’ve received - even from the Bariatric program coordinator at my surgeons office - tell me no, the BMI they look at is your starting BMI. That being said, I’ve had a couple people recommend that you don’t lose any more weight than the insurance company’s required percentage. Good luck!

Änybody had surgery who has Cova as state of VA employee? I'm in 8th month of 12 pre-surgery program and could use help in how the process works.
