Insurance approval and surgery date??

I understand every doctor is different but my doctor told me he would have a surgery date for me in dec and having surgery in jan being my 5th weigh in in dec and 6th weigh in in january how would that work? Will everything be submitted 1 week before supposedly surgery date to insurance??

It normally takes more than a week to get approved. My doctors office doesn't even schedule until the insurance company approves wls. I would just call the doctors office and ask them the exact process, because every insurance company does things in different time frames and has different requirements.

I'm sorry what I meant to say was every doctors office does things differently. I wish they would just schedule it already. My back doctor makes my appointments when I have procedures and then gets the approval. They schedule like a month sometimes 3 weeks out. I'm getting worried that I will have to wait until next year and that may present a problem. I have already met my deductible and out of pocket so everything is covered at 100%! This is just not a great time for me to have to wait!!!
