'Early Days' eating plan.

Recommended Posts

Hi there,

My name is Salena Newport and I had my band fitted just over 2 years ago. I've since lost 12 and a half stone. Yay!!!

I'm currently writing a book about the journey, and I also want it to serve as a concise volume of hints, tips and information about what it's really like to be banded- as opposed to what the 'experts' say it will be like.

The section I'm working on at the moment is about the first days after banding and the different eating 'plans' recommended by the different surgeons.

I would be very grateful if fellow bandsters would be kind enough to let me know their experience of this issue. There are 4 very simple questions I'm interested in.

1. The surgeon's name-this will not be used, I just need it so I don't make duplications.

2. The early days eating plan you were advised to follow.

3. What problems did you have with it? (If any.)

4. How much weight did you lose as a result of that time span?

If you could pm me the answers, or post them here would be great.

I thank you in advance for your help, and hope I haven't broken protocol in asking this question.

Salena Newport

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
