Hi everybody!
Sooo I'm 2 weeks post op from band to RNY. My doc usually just does 2 week leaves. I had that horrendous band out, plus the RNY. I don't think I can go back to work yet. I kind of feel like I'm being selfish but there are 2 other co-workers who had it done & they took of 4-6 weeks!
I'm a 911 dispatch supervisor and we work 12 hr shifts. We do police, fire and medical. Granted it's sedentary but I have to be alert & on point so that I can make good, smart decisions and I'm like... half a sandwich short of a picnic right now! I'm feeling good. Still pain where the stupid band was and just overall fatigue. I'm having them extend my fmla another week.
Mostly what I want I suppose is validation. ???? Am I being smart or just taking advantage of the situation? I'm 46, no spring chicken.
Thanks everyone! Love these forums????
