Nc Medicaid

Recommended Posts

Does anyone know the requirements for Medicaid? I have been told by one facility they need my PCP to verify a 6 month weight loss attempt and another facility has told me medicaid requires 2 year documentation from PCP showing I have addressed my weight issue with them. My only problem with the second one is that there were times where I went in to my PCP for an appointment but also addressed my weight while I was there so I'm doubting it was always documented. I feel like I'm lost and not sure which way to go....

Hi. I am on medicaid and finished with my prep requirements. II live in eastern NC and medicaid requires 4 months of monitored weight, psych evaluation. Nutrition appointments and recommendation letter from your PCP. They cover RNY and Lapband only. I'm using Coastal surgical out of wilmington with Dr Harris. They do all your requirements Medicaid expect. Good luck on your journey

Did medicaid require you to have the 2 years of documentation from a doctor showing that you have addressed your weight issues with them? I called medicaid to verify it, but the lady I spoke with didn't know but did tell me I was covered for it if I met the qualifications. The surgeons office I want to use told me I had to have the 2 year documentation. I think I may have just hit a wall with this now. :(

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
