April surgeries

  • Popular Post

I have finally gotten my surgery date which will be on April 1st 2015. I am so excited. I have some time to prepare a little more but it has finally become real. I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. Getting that date is a wonderful feeling.

Had surgery April 1st. Going back to Dr tomorrow morning. I can't eat or drink anything. They took me off puree food and said just clear liquids until I see the Dr.

My LB is tomorrow morning....excitedly nervous. Not looking forward to 2 weeks liquids then 2 weeks puréed. In a month I'll be able to start soft/regular food.

I'm just ready to start this journey!!

I am having trouble eating and drinking. I feel full and bloated so it hurts even to drink. I have not ate since Breakfast. Dr wants me on clear liquids until he sees me so he can figure out what's going on. I see him tomorrow morning. My sugar is already dropping from not eating or drinking.

@@kwcrnp, Eating is a little challenge for me. I'm sticking to my diet but it doesn't stop my brain from wanting the foods that got me here in the first place. Barely hungry in my stomach but in my mind I'm starving. I called my nutritionist to vent and she was very understanding by explaining that once my weight start coming off this will all be worth it and to continue to stay focus.

My surgery is set for April 21 and I'm nervous and excited!! Tomorrow I start my liquid diet is there any good tips someone can share that will make it easier to bare?

My surgery is tomorrow and I am so scared. I am so close to calling to cancel the whole thing. I need positive thoughts and prayers my way....

My surgery is tomorrow

Can anyone that has done it tell me

How bad is it... Am so nerves

i had my surgery on april 2nd, i was not in too much pain after. i think it was just the soreness but they give you pain meds. take the pain meds to avoid needing them asap and then taking an hour for them to kick in. I had alot of ice chips which helped.

good luck

Prayers coming your way. You will be okay. I'm one week post op and I was scared to, but turns out I was scared for nothing. Whatever you decide you have all of our support.

April 21 is my date I'm nervous and excited!! I just started my liquid diet day 1 with 4 days to go!! Yikes  so far no head aches yet from not eating solids!! Keeping positive and moving forward!!

I am a newby poster but a 2 month lurker :-) bypass surgery is the 27th of April!!!

It is different from each doctor of how long you have to do the liquid diet before surgery. I wish I knew why each doctor seeing things different. I went for my preregistration today April 16. Surgery is one week away on April 23 and I have been doing liquids one week and lost 15 pounds. I am now 259 pounds. I am getting excited but so nervous.

What should I pack for the hospital? My doctor said I will be in the hospital for 4-5 days. Is that right? Is just preparing me for worst case scenario?

I'm only staying 1 night, hopefully. :-)
