I had band to RNY on Jan. 16th 2014. I am currently 7 months post op and have only lost 52 pounds. I have seen people losing 80-100 pounds in the first 7 months..I'm doing what I'm supposed to and exercising like crazy..I've noticed lots and lots of inches gone..pants and shirts are way to big but my surgeon says I'm not where I should be. I'm 196 and she wants me at 185 by the time I see her next month. This has definitely added extra pressure and stress..I'm afraid I'm going to revert to "stress eating" again afraid I won't meet that goal..is anyone else having the "scale us evil" feelings? Any suggestions on losing these 15 pounds by October? HELP!!!!

Band converts trend to lose slower than straight to bypass patients. 52 lbs in 7 months isn't super fast, but seems acceptable. I wouldn't stress about your doctor's goal as long as you are doing everything how you should be.

I'm 7 months out and down 65 pounds. It seems about normal for revision patients to lose slower. We know what we can "get away with" and we already had that initial shock to our system.

Be patient, track what you're eating and see if there is a way you can cut out the excess calories or add a work out.

You'll get there!! I promise.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
