Coffee

I've read in the packet from my doc that I need to ween off coffee before surgery. Why can't we have coffee? The caffeine ? And when can we start up again? Do all docs require no coffee?

Prior to surgery I was a big coffee drinker, probably 4-5 20oz cups a day. After surgery I had no desire for coffee up till about 2 weeks out, now I do maybe 2 small 8oz cups throughout the day. Dr said it was fine as long as I'm getting on enough water throughout the day.

I love my coffee. I had to wait 2 mos. post op before I started drinking coffee again. I drink 2 cups of the haff/caff kcups a day and put my mocha cappuccino protein powder in it. There are many ways you will be able to drink your coffee again and limit the caffeine.
