I am in the process of waiting for insurance approval for my band to bypass revision, but it is highly unlikely that I will be approved. I am trying to wrap my head around the possibility of paying for this out of pocket, and was wondering what type of medical requirements there are for self pay patients. I'm sure my doctor will fill me in when the time comes, but for now, those of you who were self pay, could you tell me if there was any special diet or other requirements your surgeon had you meet before surgery? My medical requirements were pretty much the same except for the waiting periods which were instantaneous.
