Stinkin Exclusion....

My insurance has a bariatric surgery exclusion....

Makes me so mad because I called them on 1/3/14 to make sure I had the benefit and they said yes. Then; the bariatric coordinator called and said that I have an exclusion....

So I guess I'm switching to self pay :(

Really makes me mad. I also called cigna today to double check and sure enough the lady said that it is excluded.

Well guys I ended up selling some land to get 11k and then used a credit card for the rest. Surgery date is scheduled for 4/21 and I gave the cashiers checks to the bariatric coordinator today

Congrats!! That is coming up :)

I know hindsight is 20/20. And I'm late to the game chiming in here. But I would of reccommended taking a loan out against your 401K. I had to do this once, interest rate was 3.5% and was paid back to myself. The only real cost was the admin fee and the loss of gains I could of had if I hadn't taken out any money. Glad you was able to work out something, and get the ball rolling.

I have to say I decided to do this and it worked... I was approved in 2 weeks.
