How long ago did you have your surgery? Did it take long for a surgery approval date. Help!!! I need some insight from somebody.

It all depends on your insurance. Fortunately for me I had state Medicaid so the process went by so quick. Once I saw the psychiatrist and the nutritionist I had to have a endoscopy, which unfortunately came back positive for H pylori, that set back my surgery date 2 weeks. So it took me about 3 months to have everything done it would have been shorter.

Lol you just answered my questions from the other post. Medicaid as well. I see the nutritionist and psychiatrist 2nd week in January

Did you have to have diabetes for the medicaid to approve you? I keep being told that and it worries me as I have borderline diabeties but I am not diabetic.

I was never told that was a requirement. My surgeon's office took care of everything for me as far as to get me qualified. At the seminar everyone was told to have a physic evaluation, and we were refered to a nutritionist. They basically told me what to do and i did it. On the first visit they set up a date for my endoscopy. Once that was cleared i recieved a date.

I attended the seminar. I'm now waiting for my first visit

If u havent yet, expect to have to see a nutritionist and a pyc. Also expect to have an endoscpy to check p hplori.

No I haven't yet but they did tell us about the nutritionists and possibly a psychological exam.

Its required by medicaid and most other insurance.

I don't have a problem doing all the tests. I'm just worried I'm going to do all they ask and they still deny me. I really dobt want to wait 6 mos but will do what I have to.

I have not heard as of yet any being denied by medicaid. Check your medicaid plan, find out which plan ur Dr. accept and make sure. Each medicaid plan has there own requirements. When i went to my seminar , i was advised to switch to the medipass plan because they move fast.

I'm on medipass. My doc takes it. I called medipass today to ask question but the lady was rude and told me to have my doctor call... I'm going to try again tomarrow maybe I can get someone who will answer questions.
