Hi all, today im going in for my first consultation. i'm a bit worried. my bmi has dropped under 40. ik now this is really a good thing, but im worried my insurance will have issue. the bulletin states bmi must be recorded as over 40 for 24 months. I have record of it being over 35, but not over 40. has anyone had similar experience? were they approved anyway?

Do you have any co-morbidities like sleep apnea, diabetes, etc? They will cover it at 35 if so. I was perfectly healthy with a BMI of 42 so was covered with no problem.

It is my understanding that they cover it with 2 co-morbidities if you have htn or high blood pressure that counts also. diabetes and sleep apnea. Dont freak.
