Wow, In A Size 6

  • Popular Post

I cannot believe it, I'm one year out from my sleeve surgery. I remember my doctor told me this would happen. Last night I moved my SIZE 6 dress pants into my closet!!!! Even though my doctor said it would happen, that I would get down this small, in the back of my mind I had my doubts. But I'm here! I did it and according to my doctor, I'm not finished. He says I should/WILL get down one more size into a 4. Absolutely, freaking, fantastic!!!

  • Bebee, When I started this journey I was in a pant size 20W and top size 2X. And I was fixing to have to go up a size in pants.

Bebee and Dar1983, Just keep the faith, keep on reading the posts on this site and BELIEVE that IT WILL HAPPEN TO YOU. I know it's hard to really know/accept that this is FINALLY happening to us all, for years with the yo-yo dieting and the giving up to have finally found a way to achieve what we all want/NEED so much sometimes seems like a miracle. And even though I am a year out now and my weight lose has slowed down (my last 20) I still have not fully come to gripes that this has indeed happened to me. All the senior posters have said it takes a long time for the mind to catch up with the body and they are right. When I look down at myself or in the mirror I just don't see what I'm looking at. I still see the overweight person. It doesn't matter what the size tag on the pants say, I just don't "see it" on myself. My husband is always pointing out other women to me and telling me they are larger than I am and all I can do is shake my head "no, that's not possible". He then shakes his head at me and gives me a hug. He has been so understanding throughout this whole process!

Anyway, ladies, and everyone else on this site who might read this. Just know that it CAN AND WILL happen to you also. It's not easy, and sometimes it slows down, but if you keep doing what your doctor and nutritionist tell you to do, then it will happen.

I agree with everything you've said. I'm 2 yr and 7 months out. I would have been thrilled to hit a size 12 and just stay there, but it was sooooooo easy. I now wear a size 4 or 6, I personally like the 6's best, more comfy, but the 4's look better. I've been here for quite a while, but I still hold my jeans up, or look at myself in a nice dress for church and think NO WAY!!!! When someone says I'm tiny, small, skinny.....seriously, me???!!!!! I am not sure we'll EVER wrap our head around the new us!!! It's still FUN to me, I love to shop, I just look at myself and am in disbelief!! My husband will do the same thing, but I have him point out women who are my size. When I look at someone else, someone he says I'm similar to, I still cannot believe it, but I just have to smile. I did it!!! I wish this had been perfected and available 20 years ago!! I don't go towards the women's clothing any longer, but for a LONG time I did. Congrats......isn't it fun? :)

Congrats
