I went back to work four days after surgery and wore my "girdle" then.

I did not have a drain and my incisions healed beautifuly. I always put some neosporin on my incisions before putting my "girdle" on and every day I wore a clean one. I had no issue with it bothering my incisions. Just a day or two of a tiny, tiny clear Fluid leaking.

I wear a waist one- its just an 14" elastic shaper with hooks that goes hip to under breasts. It does have metal boning in it that can get uncomfortable if I wear it longer than 12 hours.

If you want something more comfortable or less constrictive, try wearing Spanx brand or even the BellaBand (a pregnancy garment).
