July 22, 201115 yr i have a womens multi vitamin i take that does not come in a chewable or gummy form, can i just crush them after surgery and swallow the bits? or do i have to find a chewable/gummy vitamin?
July 22, 201115 yr As long as your Vitamin is not "time release," "enteric coated" or otherwise specifying that you must swallow the whole pill, you should be able to chew it. It will not taste nice! (THe chewable ones don't either, but they taste better). Centrum complete makes a chewable, if you're having a hard time finding one. If you're taking additional supplements, they may or may not be advisable to chew. It depends on how they will interact with things like your tooth enamel.
July 22, 201115 yr Flintstones Complete chewables are actually on my surgeon's list of recommended vitamins They taste great and they have iron in them, so you don't have to take an iron supplement. Just remember to leave at least 2 hours between the vitamin and the calcium supplements. You could buy a small bottle of the Flintstones to last you until you can take your tablets again.
July 22, 201115 yr Author thanks! it sounds like the flintstones are the way to go bcuz they are on my NUTS list also.
July 23, 201115 yr thanks! it sounds like the flintstones are the way to go bcuz they are on my NUTS list also. Yeah, that's the route I went and I actually look forward to taking my Vitamin every morning. It's so nice to be able to CRUNCH on something and have something that's not a liquid!! lol!
August 22, 201114 yr I tried 5 different chewable vitamins. DISGUSTING!!!!!!!!!!!!! so what i do now is i cut in 4-5 small parts a Centrum Forte and I drink them with water.
August 25, 201114 yr I use Multi Vite's They are @ Sams or Walmart and are fruit flavored and taste like the gummy shark bites or snacks. So much so that my hubby is now taking them and they are very affordable- I think you get a bottle of 100 for like 11-12 $$
