There are so many BCBS companies out there, do they all have the same policies? I have BCBS of WNY and am waiting for approval and I have read alot of BCBS's feel the sleeve is investigational. Anyone out there have BCBS and they were approved first time out? SO anxious about getting approval!

No. It depends on the employer. Most employers can add stipulations to the plan. For instance our insurance is BCBS of Texas, with the TRS (Teachers). The TRS has put major stipulations on the new plan starting Sept. 1.

There is a Blue Cross Association and all BCBS are a "francise" if you will - I work for Health Care Service Corporation and we have IL, TX, NM and OK. Anthem is another one that is large. Some are individual states. Some do consider investigational but you should be able to call and ask their medical policy on the sleeve. The CPT code is 43775, Sometimes you can find their policy on the website as well.
