losing before surgery

I keep reading how many of you struggled very much through the pre op diet and felt very hungry and miserable from carb withdrawals. I am doing a strict low carb diet now while awaiting my surgery date and have lost 42lbs already. I am wondering...er....hoping that it will make doing the mostly liquid pre op diet easier. Any feedback or comments are appreciated. What were your experiences?

Heather, I too am doing the high protein, low carb pre-op diet and have lost 45 lbs. I have been drinking alot of the Atkins protein shakes trying to get ready for the liquid diet as well. I have also been working on my self made protein shakes (I am a convience eater so the pre mix seem to work better for me but I am changing that due to expense). I am trying to make my pre-op as much liquids as I can. I haven't been hungry or had any cravings yet. I have one soft meal daily and the rest are liquids of course lots of water in between. I too am curious as to how other have done their pre-op diets in preparation for surgery. Continued success on your WL, Heather, you are doing great.
