Peer To Peer

Fighting with the insurance company. My surgeon is scheduling a peer to peer with them. Does anyone know how long this process takes and what the outcomes generally are? So ticked cause I was scheduled for 11/20, then 11/26, now 11/29. I hope it doesn't need to get changed again. Praying I get good news soon.

Cann take up to a week or it can happen within a few days. Insurance companies sometimes just need to have a physician do a peer to peer to explain something. Good luck!

My surgeon did mine on the 13th.......Still waiting to hear from them! I'm scheduled for surgery Mon. the 19th...

Wishing US lots of luck!

Sadly, no. :-( Did you do your pre op testing? Are you on a liquid diet?

The surgeon that I go to does not have a pre op diet. I've done all the labs, psych eval, 6mos supervised diet etc...

Did your dr. do the peer to peer yet?

Still waiting for the peer to peer. Everything else is done. He usually does a pre op diet with his patients, however, I do not have one because I have already lost 25+ pounds on my own since September under the supervision of my dietician.

Thank you! They said it wasn't medically necessary. I have sleep apnea and a BMI of 43. My surgeon did say that of all the insurance companies, CIGNA is the most difficult to deal with. Figures cause that is what I have!

I can Attest to Cigna being difficult! Even with routine testing they make it difficult!
