Just got my hospital bill today. OMG! so glad insurance is paying for most of it. I got billed for a warm blanket and for every 15 minutes I was in recovery and in the o.r. WOW! The lap band alone was not cheap.

oh yes american medicine is expensive

i can't believe they billed you for a warm blanket while in the OR section of the hospital. Many do it as a comfort measure for their patients because they have to keep the OR cool for sanitation reasons and so the body does not bleed as much.(a warmer body bleeds more then a cooler one).

Can you talk to the hospital billing department and work out a payment plan? many are happy to work with the patient because they really don't want to overburden you if you can't pay or have difficulty with payment.

I can pay my bill, that's not a problem. I'm just shocked my wls cost more that having my kids.
