Healthlink denial

I need help.. I'm trying to get the lap band surgery.. My doctor contacted healthlink to see what i needed to get covered.. I have everything covered EXCEPT.. They want me twice my ideal weight fr my height?? Has anyone heard of this the doctor even said this is a ridiculous qualification. I'd have to gain 50lbs to be qualified.. I was wondering if anyone has appealed this qualification and what was your outcome.. Also I'd like to hear from people with healthlink in te st. Louis area..

Thanks alot

Nick

That's a new twist I've never heard..............sounds ridiculous.

Every study I've ever read utilizes standardized data such as the BMI, co-morbidities, and even just 80-100# overweight.

Keep us all informed how you get this overturned or move beyond it..........

Good Luck.

So far I've been told.. I can either 1. Gain weight 2.finance 3. Appeal which I plan todo.. Nothing seems to hopeful at this point. I've also not been on supervised diet for 5 yrs but she said that can be dealt with..
