I'm Leaking : (

I never post anything about my personal life. But, I am so upset. I just moved to Florida in November of last year for a job. Got laid off in Ohio (real estate field) and found an opportunity in Florida (very lucky). I originally got my Lap Band in 2007 at the Cleveland Clinic. I fought with the insurance company and did eventually win. It was "THE BEST" fight / decision I ever made. I lost 60% of my excess weight. So I am proud of myself for that accomplishment. In August of last year, after the death of my mother, when I am getting ready to move and "of course" when I had no insurance, I noticed that my perfect restriction was becoming less and less. I knew something was not right...but was hoping that I just needed a fill. Well...I'm not that lucky. My insurance finally kicked in at my new job in Florida. I have the United Healthcare Choice plan. I called the insurance company...and asked if they cover fills. Of course they don't. So I saved enough money to make and appointment and have a fill. Today I went for my fill. And to my disappointment the doctor told me that I have a leak. : ( My new insurance does not cover anything related to lap band. I have gained 31 pounds since my mothers death in August of last year. After my move, I have zero financial resources. deflated. disgusted. disappointed. sad. : (

Oh my gosh...I'm so sorry! I can't even begin to imagine how you feel....that's an awful lot of stress at one time....where do you go from here? I'm currently waiting for approval from insurance so I can only relate so much... keep your chin up! You have everyone's support up here!

That is terrible...I am very interested to find out what happens with your situation. Please stay in touch...Can you reach out to your former insurance company to find out if they may have any recommendations? Or if they can't help maybe you can reach out to your dr's office in Ohio to see if they may have some recomendations for you. I'm really sorry for the loss of your mother! Good Luck to you and stay strong!!! And try to make yourself get back into a work out routine and believe me you I so understand the under stress eating- try to fool your brain back to eating the right stuff!
