There is an excellent article on the value of exercise to weight loss in our morning paper. Studies have shown that exercise albeit good for the internal organs and muscles, contributes little or nothing to weight loss.
It takes an inordinate amount of vigourous exercise to use up 300 calories usually causing injury to the joints of the obese.
I wholeheartedly agree with this study as I have injured myself time and time again. Only by reducing calories have I lost weight. I no longer listen to the guilt trip others try to put on me. This article has bouyed my spirits.
