Newly Banded : Scared and in pain
I was lucky and didn't have a hernia. My pharmacy said they couldn't get in the liquid loratab. I live in a very small town,so asked my doc if I could use leftover hydrocodone from a past surgery. He said to cut them in half. I had no problems with this. They also gave me two tablets in recovery. As long as they are smaller than an M&M. Last night I started getting nausiated with dry heaves. I forced myself to sleep, but woke up dry heaving again. I haven't taken meds since yesterday afternoon, so I know nothing is stuck. Any advice?? Congrant 15th banders.

I Hate You All!
My insurance covered my surgery. I will have it done November 15th, Monday. My doctor is out of network so I had to pay 4200 dollars out of pocket. He did this because it covers the next two full years of fills or God forbid, any other surgery I may need. ie, slips, etc. My ride so far has been well worth it, even though I haven't had the surgery yet. I have been taken off of all meds except my physch med was changed to a smaller one. I can hardly wait to see what life has in store for me in the future.

Protein Shake Ideas
My husband feels so bad for me sometimes. He knows it's so hard to get these shakes down. One morning he brought me a shake. It was awesome. I asked what he did and he said he broke up two orange sugar free popsicles into the french vanilla shake. It tasted just like a dreamsicle. Yum Yum

November 15 banders group
I have to agree, the two week diet bites. I have been strong and stuck to it mostly. I did cheat on my grandson's first birthday party. I ate one bite of cupcake with no frosting, one hotdog and one hamburger, plain, no bun. I went back on the "yucky" diet right after. People at work keeps tempting my with lasgna and apple pie and pizza. I didn't eat any, but wanted to kick em where it would hurt, if you know what I mean. haha Good luck 15th banders.

I have my surgery Monday also. I was told to bring a pillow for the ride home to hold on the sore spots on my belly. Good luck everyone.

November 15 banders group
Hi everyone, November 15th for me as well. I start my no fat, low carb, 700 calorie diet on the 1st. My doctors office sells the med fast, shakes etc.. I will eat a small bit 7 times a day. It's going to be tough, but I can do it. I have researched lap-band and gastric bypass for 10 years now. It's about time I did it. I am excited, nervous, scared to death, happy, oh, did I mention excited?? My doctor also has educated me very well on this, so I can do it. I hate throwing up, so no bad things for me. haha. Glad to be part of the November 15 banders.

Tomorrow is my 1st day of my 6 mo. pre op diet!
Hi Val, I have just recently finished my six month pre-op diet. The first few months went by pretty easy. I just cut out a little every day. What they want to see is a loss. It doesn't matter if it's 5 lbs or an ounce. I got through the last two months by taking an extra water pill the night before. I know, I cheated, but heck, it worked. My family doc was, well let me say, an A$$ with me. So I went to Doc Curry (my lap band doc) for my pre-op diet. Good luck and it really does go by quickly.:puke:
