well, i am 33 years old, and i have been overweight all of my life. even in kindergarten-i was always the fat girl. that term has always been by my side. After years of battling with diets, and lots of diet rx pills--i decided--this is it!!!  I started going to a different family Dr. she suggested that because of my rapid heart rate, high blood pressure, and diabetes, that i consider the lap-band.  and to be honest with you--i had NO second thoughts.I was ready to do it. I went thru all the steps, and 6 months later, on june 7th 2010-8:00am at hardin memorial hospital, i started my new life.  I had the 14cc lap-band, and things have only gotten better since. The first few days were a little rough, but they did get better. I have learned a whole new way of eating, and it is amazing to know actually just how much food you DON'T have to comsume to stay healthy. Almost immediatley, my diabetes dissappeared. shortly after that, i went off of my blood pressure pills. I am so thankful for this second chance to get my health under control. it is scary to think that you may not be around to raise your child, after bringing them into this world. thank you Dr. John Oldham for helping me find the new me!!!
