  1. Wow! Thanks to everyone for their comments and words of encouragement. This site is the best thing I could have ever found! I am feeling really good today and am totally stoked about getting the band. I really feel like I've made a great decision for myself. I know I can make this work for me. I want to be a healthy skinny person! I probably sound like a crazy person but I don't even miss the food right now! I'm so happy I finally have a chance to lost this darn weight! Thanks again to everyone for their posts. Tomorrow is my follow up with the surgeon hopefully it will go really well.

  3. Update from a 9/30 surgery...I also had my surgery on 9/30/10 and was feeling all the same things...what the heck was I thinking??? But today I feel much better! My scars are healing well, I feel just a little soar and my attitude has done a 360 change from the depression I had for the past few days since the surgery. Tomorrow I have my follow up with my surgeon and I hope he confirms that everything is healing well. I'm ready to start this new journey and soooo glad I'm finally on my way! The pain is worth it, I know it will be!
  4. Thank you Thank you Thank you to everyone for words of encouragement. This has to pass for me just like it did for others...I'm only 3 days out and am able to keep shakes and water down. Had terrible gas pain but it too seems to have "passed" a little. I'm still pretty soar so I'm not even thinking about food now, don't think I will ever again as soar as my stomach is! Guess that's how this helps you lose weight! LOL...ouch..that hurt. Take care all...
  5. Hello, I was banded on 9/30/10 and am looking for a buddy. I am female, 39 yrs old, living in Texas. Look forward to learning all I can about this new way of life I have chosen. Thanks!

Banded on 9/30/10. I still can't believe I did this. I spent $15k on this and what if it doesn't work. I know that I have to do my part. Oh Lord please let this work. I want to be healthy. I don't want to be disabled by this weight anymore. I hope this soarness goes away soon. I'm so surpised...this surgery was worse than my hysterectomy!

Congrats! Had mine on 9/30. Gas pain has been unbelievable. Still pretty soar today. I'm ready to be healed and start this new journey too.
  8. Just had my surgery on 9/30/10 too. Having some of the same feelings...OMG what have I done to myself, what if I spent all this money (self pay) and this doesn't work, what will my friends, family think of me then? From what I've read this scary thinking is pretty typical right after surgery. I'm just hoping this too will pass and I will get to my first fill uneventful. One question...my surgeon said he found a small tumor (noncancerous) that he'll need to take care of in 3 - 4 months. :scared2:I have my followup with him on Tuesday to learn more. He said the band placement is fine but eventually the tumor could grow and cause me some problems. Did anyone else experience anything like this?
