  1. I had H. Pylori infection a few years prior to my surgery and was treated. Never had ulcers that I know of and the tummy troubles went away with treatment. I wouldn't think that it would be an absolute no on having the surgery as long as your stomach is healthy at the time of your surgery. Just check with your doctor. Good luck!
  2. Just keep trying to exercise and eat right until you get the band. It is a wonderful tool but it is not a quick fix. I am a slow loser and in addition I have gained about 30 pounds back this past year due to having the fill out twice for 2 surgeries, and being sick for almost a year and breaking my foot. I am all fixed now I hope and he has started replacing my fill and I have resumed my walking. Just go into this lapband knowing that it is not a magic bullet -- you will still have to work at it every day for the rest of your life. Also know that you will have plateaus and setbacks but don't let them ruin you - remember that YOU are in control. I am by no means where I want to be but I am so proud of how far I've come. You should be too. Hang in there and keep your eyes on the goal!
