Calling all A11s!!

Hello all!! It's been sooo long since I posted anything!! I'm 8 weeks post op and have lost 41 pounds so far!! And went down 2 dress sizes! Had my first fill (3 cc's) on Sept 7th. Next fill is scheduled for Dec 14th. (I have to fly to Anchorage, AK for each appt..so they are spaced out) I've been exercising pretty much everyday. I'm seriously happy!! I hope everyone is doing well out there!! KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!!

August 2011 Bandsters????

Got my band yesterday. Got discharged this evening. All went well, I don't remember how I fell asleep for the surgery, next thing I knew I was in recovery. A few things for those of you who are getting it done this month....be prepared to be VERY sore..also you will have a lot of gas pains...mainly in your stomach and chest. You'll be hooked up to an IV (obviously) and you'll have a "happy button" for pain meds. Each time I pushed it I fell asleep. Get ready for jello and broth too. That was on my food tray. All in all everything went well. Just be ready for the soreness. Oh and you will have a catheter. Make sure you WALK WALK WALK as soon as you fill up to it. Good Luck all!! Make sure you take a before surgery picture too!! It's exciting to start my journey!!

August 2011 Bandsters????

I'm on day four, with the same diet. UGH is annoying. I still have horrible cravings...like for a nice cold margarita! LOL But I keep telling my self I'm doing this for me and the outcome with be great! I'm heading to the store today to look for more options...since I'm so tired of eating the same thing all the time. Good luck!!

eliptical nightmare

It's really not that bad, I used to do 5-7 miles a day on that bad boy. Don't look at others doing it and assume you should go the same speed....take your time....feel it...flow with it...you'll get it. Going slower will help you get the balance then before you know it you'll be a pro!!

August 2011 Bandsters????

Good job starting back up again. It's so hard to stay on track....for me because I cook for my munchkins and I just want a small bite of what they are having...lol My diet is the same...basically high protein low carbs. Drinking my shake as I type. It's rough, but I always look at what is going to happen in two weeks so it makes it worth it in the end. I'm only on day 2, so I don 't know if I lost anything....I don't own a scale. Guess I should get one now. I started a workout routine so I can get in a habit of working out regularly when I get the surg. I also starting chewing my food like 20 times before swallowing. So far so good. Keep up on track with the diet!! You can do it!

August 2011 Bandsters????

I love reading everyone's posts!! Sounds like August is going to be a great month for us all!! Good luck!! Had to explain to my 6 year old daughter about what's going to happen to mommy. She asked if the doctor is going to take my tummy out and to make sure he puts it back in so I can eat.. LOL Anyways, starting my pre-op diet on Tuesday (high protein/low carbs)....but I may start on Monday. High fives to you all out there in August banders! We got this!!

18. Thanks for the reply. I'm still waiting to hear back on some labs then my PCM is going to refer me to a surgeon. We PCS in March, so I don't know if I'll be able to get it done before we leave. Did your PCM have you go to a 6 month nutrition class? And did Tricare say anything about a class like that? Thanks again.
19. Trying to get the process started...are there any overseas military wives here? Any advice? Thanks.
