  1. Kim, Your post was really helpful to me. I too have been struggling. I had my surgery Aug 30, 2010. I lost around 17 lbs in the first 4 weeks....and once I was off the liquid diet, I haven't lost a pound. I actually had gained back 2 lbs. I had my first fill almost 2 weeks ago...and still no loss. It's nice to hear that it can be normal and there is still hope. I'm just ready to start losing again. I am frustrated beyond all belief. But just wanted to say thanks for the help!
  2. Hello out there! I was wondering if anyone had any protein powders that they recommended? I have been using UnJury...but it's kind of a pain you can only get it online.
  3. I am a little over 3 weeks post surgery and still on the liquid diet. For the last week, when I go to bed at night, my stomache feels an instant almost "hungry feel" when I lie down. That turns into a pretty bad pain that runs from my stomach up to my diaphragm. One night I got up and ate 1/2 a yogurt and that seemed to help enough to let me sleep. It's just odd I only feel it when I lay down. Has anyone else had this problem? ???? :rolleyes2:
  4. The pain does start to go away. I feel for you. By day #7 I felt like crying. Between the constent feeling of someone sitting on my chest and the shoulder pain, I felt like I could cry at the drop of a hat. It really can wear you down. But it feels so much better now!!! I do get a little of a mild pain in my shoulder still at times. But as of yesterday I am off any sort of pain med. I hope you get feeling better soon!
  5. Thanks Cmom! Congrats on your weight loss! I can't wait for the left pains to stop. It is only super painful at times...but for the most part, it's just ANNOYING! I am down 5 lbs already so that helps excepting the pain. But I am still ready to be all healed up! I hope it doesn't last much longer. Thanks again, for all the advice!
  6. got banded august 30th
  7. Hello all you August 30th Banders!! I too was banded on the 30th. And I as well am having the shoulder and and chest gas pains. It feels like I have constant indigestion. It can be horrible at times, but mostly just annoying. I get the slow "pressure burn" in my chest at times when I swallow. Then followed by a burp/hiccup that is the most painful. I am down 5 lbs already, which is great, but I am totally ready to be healed up and this gas pain to go AWAY!!
  8. How do I get a ticker for my posts?
  9. I am the same way with my water. I was good the first few days...but not so much today. I figure the protein is more important. And my shoulder seems to hurt more if I force water down. I'm anxious to be all healed up and get started on a regular regiment.
  10. Thanks Zeniada....that is good to hear! I was starting to get nervous. How has your recovery and liquid diet been going?
  11. I had my lapband surgery Monday (5 days ago). I woke up with pain in my left shoulder and it doesn't seem to be going away. The doctor says it could just be from the air put into the body for the procedure. But a hiatal hernia was found during the procedure and my doctor corrected it. Anyways, my question or concern is....is this something I will have forever?
  12. I am new too! I just had my surgery Monday. I am excited and nervous to get through these first 4 weeks. So far so good though.
