I'm new at this, too. Hope this reply works. I was banded last Friday, Sept. 3. Today is day 6. I'd hoped to go back to work today, but after getting up and ready, I had such gas pains still that I just couldn't make it. Honestly, though, on a scale of 1-10, pain never got above a 5. liquid children's Asetametaphine works well. (just hard to gag down) Will go back tomorrow. Good Luck.

Hi All, I am 53 and can't wait for my surgery this Friday, Sept. 3, 2010. Feel like it'll be a new "birth" day for me! Flying from Salt Lake City to San Diego, and having my surgery in TJ, Meheeeko at the Obesity Control Center by Dr. Martinez, who works side by side with Dr. Ortega. I have read so much about this in the last six weeks and feel very comfortable and content (so far) with having this done there. Anyone having lapband or has had it, should really read the book "Lapband For Life" by Dr. Ortega. It answerd so many of my questions.
