  2. Good luck with everything. =)
  3. I just read in a weight loss book, that liquid will not stretch out your pouch.
  4. Hi everyone. I had my lap band removed and revised over to the RNY may 14. Almost 2weeks post op, starting weight 287, today's weight 271. I am really happy about my loss. I have a lot of pain still from where the port was on my lap band. They had to cut into my abdominal wall to remove it, so when I stand it takes the breath out of me. I have to admit I am struggling with my liquids. Everything is like cotton candy times 1000!!!! I was so hungry yesterday that I ate 5 small crackers, chewed to liquid and I felt so much better. I told my dietitian, and she said to not worry about it. Has this happened to anyone else???
  5. Take biotin for hair loss. You can get it at any vitamin store. It's a chewable tablet. I took it every day with my band and my hair was fine.
  6. Well, my band is gone!!!! I had my band to RNY bypass may 14th. In over that 1 week, I am down 14lbs. I am feeling great and happy to have the band gone. I am still home recovering, because it was 2 surgeries not one. I am walking everyday, and doing great. No more issues with pain or swallowing. Thank god...

  8. Hi beth, what did your doc say about te RNY? You can message me if you like. My doc won't do the sleeve, they are not doing the sleeve where I live.
  9. I was banded Nov 2010. I was doing great for the first year but I was overfilled by the NP in my office for 3 fills and began to have issues. I PB all the time. I have had 2 barium swallows since June 2012 with the second one being this past week. My esophagus is in distention. I have horrible heart burn, I cannot eat solid protien so I am living on slider foods, tea, yogurt, shakes. I have regained all of my weight and I feel like a failure. I am not happy with my band. I am uncomfortable and I need to have it removed. My surgeon wants to switch my to an RNY. He said the RNY is the best for people with reflux issues. Now, I have been completely unfilled since December 2012 due to a horrible stuck episode that lasted for 3 hours of me in the bathroom PBing......I am still tight, I have full restriction even though my band is empty. I think this just isn't the tool for me. I am so scared of the RNY but I am 40years old and I have done every diet known to man. I feel like this is my only option but I am still scared. I am waiting for my insurance to give the go ahead...yes I am stressing from all of this and the heartburn isn't helping...sorry for the rant...
  10. The closest doctor is Dr. Kruger @ Southcoast health systems. He is in Wareham out of TOBY Hospital. I got my band 2 years ago and everyone there is great!!!! Call them @ 508-273-4900 . From fall River he is about a 20 minute drive. Good luck
  11. Not a downer at all, that is why I asked the question. Thanks Honk =)
  12. Hey everyone =) I am just curious how the rest of you have done. I was banded Nov 15, 2010. I had my first fill 6 weeks post op, and I am 1 month overdue for my 2nd fill due to insurance issues. I am going in tomorrow for my second fill and I am looking forward to it. Down 32 lbs by the way. My question, for those that have past the 2nd fill mark, did you finally start to have some restriction and did you find the weight loss began to move along more? I was stuck at 30 lbs for the past 4 weeks, then I just suddenly started to lose again. Woo Hoo!!!!
  13. I will be post op 3 months this Monday. I have had only one fill and I am down 30 lbs. But, I have been at 30 down for the past 8 weeks, and then I stalled. I haven't moved on the scale, I had to r/s my 2nd fill due to insurance issues, and I will now get that fill 2-28-11. I may not be loosing BUT..... Tonight, I put on and buttoned my NEW size 18 jeans from Ann Taylor Loft..... The last time I wore that was over 22 years ago. So, even though I have not lost on the scale, I am deffintly hitting inches. I am hoping though with the second fill that I start seeing movement again.
  14. I am doing a protien shake in the AM switching off with greek yogurt and fruit . Lunch I make on Sunday so I can bring it to work and not get stuck looking for something, which is turkey chili, or turkey taco minus the shell. Deli meat with cheese. Then dinner will be fish or chicken. What are you eating?
  15. Congrats to you BigRueb!!!!!! You are going to have to change that name to miniRueb before you know it Happy New Year, New YOU!!!!!!
  16. Hi Kim, I got banded Nov 15, 2010. I am down 26.5 lbs and SO happy that I did this. For me, I didn't want to TRY another diet one more time. I am 38 and have been on a diet for 28 years of my life! This has been a GOD send. I am sleeping better, moving better, I am happy, and everyone notices the positive changes. Life does not have to be a battle of weight issues. People who think WLS is an easy out, only think that because they are misinformed or just plain ignorant. I wish you the best of luck on this journey! Happy New Year, New YOU!!!!!! =)
