  1. Hi everyone! I am pre-op and new to this forum. My sleep study is scheduled for this week. I am nervous because in order for my insurance to pay for the lap-band®, I have to have sleep apnea (since I didn't have any of the other co-morbidities). I think I have it, because I have always felt like I had it, and also I went on WebMD and I have all the symptoms except for the breathing lapses. My symptoms are: Excessive daytime sleepiness. Scored 15 on the scale. Waking with an unrefreshed feeling after sleep, having problems with memory and concentration, feeling tired, and experiencing personality changes. Morning or night headaches. Heartburn or a sour taste in the mouth at night. Loud snoring. Actually, I do have the breathing lapses, just not consistently...(maybe only like twice a week am I awakened by a lapse in breathing.) My question is: Is there anyone out there who has been diagnosed with sleep apnea WITHOUT having consistent breathing lapses as a symptom?
