Hello my name is Joann and I am obese and have been working on getting the lap band placed for 3+ years.  I have went through many diets, workouts and doctor appointments  and finally was approved through my insurance company, Aetna to have the lap band surgery performed.  Went in for surgery on June 8th and was unable to have the surgery performed for some weird reasons.  The operative report states my stomach was "bloggy and floppy".  During the surgery my stomach was punctured while trying to place the band and was told that it was advisable to have the band done.  I really don't feel I want to go and have the total gastric bypass done.  I am still very disappointed with my outcome and I am thinking of having a second opinion by another surgeon.  If anyone has any words of wisdom or advice or if they have been through this please send me comments. Thanks for reading my story.Joann
