I havent been banded yet so im sorry no good with advice:cry , did they give you any medication for the nausea,its says on my sheet to have no more than 30mls of Fluid at any one sitting and sip it and wait 30 minutes between next drink or you will feel nauseous it probably anesethetic ok im crap at spelling and not helping ..il send loads of hugs and luck your way it day one and no gas pains whoo hoo. il be joining you on friday
  2. :clap2: im being banded on 15th whoo hoo !!! im not sleeping that well not sure if excitement or fear or both.
  3. hi karen im being banded next friday,im so nervous about it as it is still a enigma to me,im not sure whats going to happen in future but im not dealing with my weight right now and i have a very unhealthy self image and it screwing up my life so im praying that banding is a great choice.
  4. its 1 46 am im nervous and not sleeping and have a whole week to go b4 surgery :omg: ,but i loved this thread and makes me so glad im going for it ,thanks guys you not only helping yourselfs your inspiring others :clap2: .
  5. im happily married have four gorgeous sons provide very well for them and am paying for my own surgery,and i agree totally that having numerous pregnancys without care for how you will be able to manage them financially and emotionally til adulthood is madness but i think family size is personal choice and of course if there were no more children the world ends !!!!so no need to worry about the queues.
  6. hiya ive had my gb removed and apart from a afternoon of agony from gas pains i was fine actually when i got up to use toilet (as im a bed pan phobe) i started to feel much better ,im having my surgery on the 15th of december and i am truly scared and excited but mainly scared as i want it to be great for me and so terrified if it goes wrong i look a fool ,as i know people around me waiting to see if it right decision ! i also feel im so uninformed i wasnt told about any special diet b4 or after and im having surgery on friday and my hubby going to work on the monday so il be home with my 3 year old (other boys at school )and there seemsalot of people in pain for more than a few days ,kmy surgeon reckons it only take 30 mins for my surgery so i was thinking quick healing. what are protein shakes ???and i dont want to pay 10000 euro to drink slim fast ...pmsl
  7. hi loritha oh im so glad you had surgery done by same doctor ,as when i was researching this you feel like your picking name out of a hat and i really liked him at consultation but since he only dr i went to see i was worried i was just desperate ..lol my weight at the moment at around 270lbs and i want to get to 168 lbs so much the same as sugarplum above who has made it whoo hoo !!! ,im so glad you posted as it great to see people who have came out the other side.what an amazing journey and im about to start mine.
  8. hi all i already posted on another thread but thought now i found introduction thread id say helllllo again. my name is nikki ,im 32 ,i live in ireland and im having band fitted on the 15th of december.(11 days:clap2: ) im hoping that the money being spent on it isnt wasted and that it works for me !! i know it will:) i will just have to make it work .Im having lapband fitted by dr jerome manceau at advanced cosmetic surgery in dublin .Has anyone else used them ??
  9. helllo everyone im struggling around trying to work out how to post..lol my name is nikki im 32 and im married with 4 sons, im having lapband on in 11 days (15th) and was delighted to see another fellow irish girl who had surgery done by dr jerome manceau as im nervous of this particular cosmetic surgery place as they seem very dithery and unorganised but i didnt want to go abroad. im not sleeping well at the moment as my mind seems to be racing im really hoping to gain some advice ,support or at least a few people that know why im choosing to do this. i hope to get to know you all alot better ,ok im rambling now il go check out some more of your posts to see whats been happening to all of you. thanx in advance nikki xx
