  1. I was also sleeved on Tuesday.... band to sleeve revision. Some discomfort/pain, some nausea, and def hard to get in liquids, but overall not too bad. I also burp after every sip. I hear day 3-6 are the roughest, so let's hang in there. We got this! Hope everybody has a smooth recovery!
  2. Wow, I am so sorry that someone questioned what was hard about your journey. Being banded doesn't make it "easy" to lose weight. It is a tool in weight loss, but there is so much more to it. Most people who have WLS have mental attachments to food. We need to overcome any emotional issues that have allowed us to have weight issues. We need to commit to exercise, learn our bodies, and deal with the band's sensitive nature. What can you eat today? When you can eat, dealing with how not to overeat. Relearning our bodies at every fill. It is SO Dammmmmmmn hard and I am proud of you for sticking with it. I am sorry someone questioned your experience and tried to belittle the hard work you have put into a healthier, thinner you! The band didn't do it, YOU did!

    So Discouraged

OMG- I am going through the SAME thing. I had a complete unfill on 1/1/12 and now have 7 cc's back but still no restriction. I miss the "green zone". I haven't gained YET but I feel like I am on the strictest "diet" to maintain this weight loss without the band. So frustrating!!!!!!!
  4. I am frustrated today. After a complete unfill on Jan.1 due to a dilated pouch, I got a fill a week ago back to 7cc's, which is how much I had before my problem. I feel as if I have no/very minimal restriction and have such a desire to eat. After being very tight (too tight), I hate that I am hungry and can eat whatever I want. I don't, but I am struggling with portion control and the ability to have all the foods that were easy to avoid because I "couldn't"- namely pasta and bread. I have been still packing my breakfast and lunch and doing great there. I have been portion controlling my dinner, but at night I want to munch. I know the "pat" answers- eat healthy foods, take a walk, stay out of the kitchen, etc., but that still didn't stop me from the extra bites at dinner and the TWO breadsticks at dinner tonight. A bite of bread used to be the biggest treat. Ashamed of myself. I know better. I have not gained since the unfill, and don't expect to lose until I have proper restriction again- but just trying to maintain my weight loss is taking sooooooo much work. So many questions- What is real hunger? What is head hunger? Will I gain if I eat "normally" because I hadn't been eating from Thanksgiving to New Years? I have worked so hard to get here, and I loved being restricted. Being back to "dieting" stinks!!!!
  5. I was having this same problem. It is a "weird" sign of Vitamin B deficiency. The first doctor I went to looked at me like I was crazy when I reported this symptom, but upon further investigation- I was right! That is what it is.

    6 Oz Steak :(

Sometimes after a fill, you are swollen for a while and the "restriction" you feel is actually swelling. See how eating continues to go and see if you can still eat larger portions/are hungry between meals, you may need another fill.

How Many Cc's In Your Band???

I worked my way up to 7 cc. Then they added .5 and it was too tight. They took me back down to 7 cc... still too tight. Ended up with a complete unfill. Now back to 7 cc's today... Praying it is finally "just right"!
  8. This strand was so helpful. I just got my band deflated entirely today after a month of PB'ing, night reflux, and discomfort. I have been banded for 16 months and was doing great until a fill then unfill a month ago. I am going for an upper GI to check for slippage on Thursday. I am praying I was just too tight and this is all irritation from that. If you are reading this and experiencing reflux to the point where it wakes you up, you have to sleep sitting up, etc., it does not get better! Go back and get a slight unfill instead of landing where I am at.

  11. Hello, I had lap band surgery in August 2010 and have come here a lot to read other posts, but never really posted my own post. I am now 70 lbs. down, and three pounds away from Onederland! Overall I would say I have about 25 more to lose. I started in a size 20/22 pants and am now wearing a 14 going into a 12. I am newly single after dating someone during most of my weight loss... I haven't dated in over 50 lbs.! All these changes are wonderful, exciting, and SCARY! After a recent fill and unfill, I am struggling with horrible reflux. I feel good otherwise, but am sometimes not even sure how I feel about my new body and the reactions of others. I definitely can use some support as I prepare to hit Onederland and start considering dating again after all this weight loss.

    Weird Feeling In Chest

LOL Kaye! Yep, you need to chew, chew, chew... and sorry to be gross but many times the food will come up if it doesn't go down.
  13. I definitely feel fluctuation from time to time- day to day. After a fill, I swell and I take a while to recover/settle. My restriction is usually quite tight after a fill and then loosens. If you continue not to have the restriction, you probably just had a strong reaction to the fill and may need another one down the line to feel that restriction again.
  14. Two pounds 'til ONEDERLAND! That would be a great New Year's celebration!

  15. I hear so many people who are worried about the liquid diet. I feel for you. My surgeon only requires the Atkins diet and I am one week in and struggling. Do you know why different doctors require liquid vs. Atkins?
