I have been overweight all my adult life and it only got worse when I had twins 8 yrs agao and became a stay-at-home mom.  I tried many many diets and always put the weight back on. Lap-band had been on my mind for about 3 months when I decided to go to a class to learn about it, hosted by my surgeon. Jan 2010 changed my life... I knew when I could not fit on a kids ride with my daughter it was time for a change.... The classes that my Doctors office had me do pre-surgery were soo sooo important!!!  I could take time pre-surgery to think and really prepare mental for the surgery....this was and I will say was the most important thing for me to have . It was a great educational time to learn about myself and what I needed to do for not only my family but ME!! It was time for ME to become a little selfish. Hard to do for a very active mom that does so much for her kids. I had a great supportive husband and friend help me after surgery which was very rough..  I would honestly go through labor and delivery with my twins again then go through lap-band surgery!!!! I had extreme bloating and did not feel myself for about 7days after surgery. It is not a vacation.. It is hard worrk and not to be entered into light hearted. Time to focus on ME was hard for me to do. I have come to feel I deserve it and I feel great after losing 60+pounds and counting. I do not regret the surgery one bit even after the pain and bloating.. No problems sense surgery and I am on track to lose my goal of 100 pounds before my 36th birthday in April!! YES YES !!
