  1. Thanks for your reply, i just called the bariatric coordinator - which i am not too fond of - and she said 6 wks. So six wks it is. Oh well.
  2. I am 2 wks post op today. I am going to call my dr today and see if its ok that i swim. I want to be more active and walking is just so boring. I have a 4 yr old and he is begging me to take him to the pool. All my incisions have healed and i feel fabulous. Anyone around my post op and gone swimming? Anyone know the "rules" on this? Please share!!
  3. :thumbup:HAAAAD to print this out!!! Thank you!
  4. I was banded on June 17. I had a 5 day clear liquid diet, then minimal liquids the day after surgery. I am having a hard time comprehending why my surgeon insists on me being on a liquid diet for 6 wks after surgery then transition strait to solids. I also confirmed this is the guidelines with the nutritionist. Their regimin does not follow the "mush" stage. I dont get it. I honestly can not imagine 4 more wks of this. I am not starving, i drink my protein shakes 3xs a day and drink plenty of h2o, yogurt and eat lots of fudgsicles. I hate the cream soups and the aspertame in the suarfree drinks gives me headaches. My issue is it's the summer and i just want to crawl underneith a rock untill the 4 wks are over. I weigh myslef and sometimes i am the same weight sometimes i am 1lb less. I dont get it. It's so discouraging that i stopped weighing myself. There are too many festivities going on that i have been declining. Anyone else in this situation? 6/12 Starting weight 312 6/17 Surgery weight 293:rolleyes2:
  5. Congratulations to everyone on their weightloss so far!! I am extremly excited to see my transformation everyday.. Thanks goodness for those who are honest and can answer inquiring mind's questions. Guilty. I've done it less than a handful of times but with very minimal food ie...a cube of cheese, or a piece of lettuce. Again, it is just about getting the taste and being able to chew. I can see however how this can become a bad habit and how gross it really is. Before you know it your chewpitting - thats the best i could come up with - a whole McDonald's value meal. .. So for those that are pre op right now, good luck on your journey. I lost 19 lbs on my clear 5 day preop.
  6. I dont see this happening too often pre op, but definetley post op. You just need to get the taste of real food. I have 4 more weeks to go on my liquid phase and its getting rough. It is discussing but when your desperate..... :scared2:
