I have been overweight for most of my adult life.  Tried various diets only to gain back what I lost plus some.  I want to be healthy and be around to see grandchildren.  I talked with my PCP on Tuesday, June 22, 2010 about Lap Band and he thought it was a good idea.  He gave me information on TLCEdge out of Dallas, but so far no word from them.I was notified by TLC Edge on June 25th that I did not meet their criteria to have LapBand surgery.  Although I tried to explain that according to my insurance's guidelines I was a eligible, the solution was TLC Edge could let me see their dietitian as I have been this route before with no lasting results, I told them thanks but no thanks.  I called my insurance company and they referred me to Dr. Stephen Hamn in Plano.  I had my first appt. on August 18 and I am now waiting for insurance approval.
