I got the lap band surgery done in 2005. I got it because I was fat! and hated the way I looked. I am a diabetic on medication. My HB1C  was 7.4 when I first got the surgery. After the surgery I struggled so much with the food part because I was starving and couldn't get anything down. I only had 3cc in but after about 2 months things started to become easy, way too easy. I had lost 10 pounds and was quite happy but the food was going down without struggles. I went in and explained it to Doc and he did another fill telling me I should have lost more weight. He filled me to 6.5 and the troubles started again. All he said is liquid diet! well I knew I couldn't go liquid because the last time I did only liquid I was starving and having black-outs. Being diabetic and on Medications to lower sugars in your blood doesn't help. No win situation.By the end of 2008 I was filled at 10.5cc for 1 year and had only lost a total of 30 pounds and was suffering greatly with regurgitation and I was starting to add on some weight. BUT my HB1C was 5.8 EXCELLENT! My husband pleaded with me to have the band taken out or the fill emptied. He hated seeing me go through this abuse. So in May 2009 I had it taken out to 3cc. It was wonderful because I could actually drink water to quench my thirst. I could eat without regurgitating. But when by the following May 2010 my HB1C was 8.4 and I gained 13 pounds I was devastated. I knew I was feeling off. So here I am in June 2010  with my band filled to 6.5 starting over again.............Can anyone help me succeed? What am I doing wrong?
