  1. I have had the band for 5 yrs and post op diet was liquids for a week and mushy after. I don't see anything wrong with it just go slow and see how it feels. It teaches you to chew well and take small bites. You will see yourself filling with just a couple tablespoons of food. When you think you are ok then use a special cup that measures a half cup of food and blend with water and yogurt. Its liquid and fulfills that hunger. I ate what my family ate just as a liquid. Secret is to change your lifestyle habits, cook healthy for family. God Bless
  2. Hi, Yes the hunger does subside but the secret is push Water. In order to get veggies and fruit in fresh, wash and blend with water. Here is a green smoothie that helped me curb the hunger and keep my Vitamin intake good. handful of parsley or spinach or any leafy greens 1 green onion 1 tomato small 1/2 cucumber 1 cup low fat yogurt or water blend until completely liquified drink it right away to assure you get your Vitamins. You can also do this with your fruit. Try it with soya milk and fruit its good and feels like you are cheating. As the weight starts to come off you will become motivated and hunger will be controlled. Good luck and let me know in a week how your doing. Remember you can blend anything your family eats with yogurt and drink it. Remember to get in food with Iron in it. I became anemic after surgery.
