  1. setteb, i'm getting ready to start the 6 month wait period. what kind of things did you have to do to be able to submit to insurance? Melissa
  2. Suzette, thanks so much for that tip. i am just super frustrated because this info isn't just info to me and i want my old doctor to realize that this information is crucial to me being able to start the 6 month weight watch with the doctors so i can be able to put in for WLS. its not just a number on a page...this is a part of a new chapter of my life. I'm just frustrated, but I'm going to try something similar to what you said tomorrow and see if I can get this info started. I would like to show up to my surgical initial meeting with all the paperwork in tow and not be waiting for my 5 year weight history. Thanks for the support, Melissa
  3. if you don't like your surgeon, you know you can switch right? i would tell you that if you really don't like him i wouldn't want to be uncomfortable with my surgeon because we have to see them for re-fills for our bands too if i'm correct? or do all the nurses do that?
  4. i'm not using that doctor but i'm with that doctors office. my surgeon will be dr. clement. the WLS nurse that organizes all of the insurance information said that as long as teh check list is complete for any insurance (especailly BCBS Aetna and CIGNA) you should have a quick result and could have a surgery date within weeks of that approval!
  5. i'm so frustrated with trying to get my weights in from 2005 and 2006. how hard is it for someone to fax a piece of paper!!!!!
  6. Hi my name is Melissa and i'm 28 years old and I live in Murfreesboro, TN! I'm just starting the weight loss journey and meeting with my surgeon on July 1st. I'm looking for locals in the Middle Tennessee / Nashville area for support! i've also started a blog about my journey Pass Go and Be Below 200
  7. i don't think that is silly at all. i know i'm in the middle of doing that same exact promise and i was just pumped in making calls and giving fax numbers to be sent...it is the little things that keep us going!
  8. Hey everyone, I'm just beginning my surgery journey and i've been reading anything i can get my hands on so far just on the internet, but i was wondering if any of you had read any books on banding or similar topics that were great reads or things that helped you along the way? I found WLS for Dummies and Eating well after weight loss surgery as possible books on another post. Thanks
