I'm 28 years old and I'm still a newlywed. I just finished graduate school and have a job I love a lot!!! I work in the University setting and I adore my freshman that are my "children" during the academic year, but I want more out of my life. I'm getting ready to pursue my doctorate, planning a formal wedding with my amazing husband, and looking forward to our "disneymoon" that we are saving up for. I was recently diagnosed being a full fledge diabetic in conjunction with PCOS that I seem to have every co-morbidity of these days. I've been traveling the dream of being a healthier and thinner version of me. Its been about 20 years now and I never dreamed I would be at this place ever in my life, but after giving dieting once last time and giving it my all in and out of the Rec center, I went to my doctor last week and broke down crying. I didn't know what to do and after being denied weight loss medication for about the 10th time my doctor finally provided me a solution. She referred me for weight loss surgery. I remember coming home last week and telling my husband. This was a reality. I called my insurance though with hesitation because no previous insurance ever covered weight loss surgery, but after about a 20 min weight, its covered and I was referred to a doctor. My referral letter was written and I signed up for my seminar that will be held next week. I am scared. I am excited. I have never pictured myself thin, but had a dream for the first time ever of fitting into a smaller size!!!!! Most of all I'm excited to look at my husband with hope in my eyes now. He is so sweet and supportive along with being pretty romantic. He told me that if we were going to start this journey that he would do it with me side by side and that reaching my goal weight would mean something big! He told me that he wouldn't marry me again till I could buy the dress that I wanted not the one that fit! How amazing is he!I'm excited to see what will pan out, but for the first time I am excited.
