  1. Yeah this gas is horrible. I've been walking steady all day today. Dr. Osuna said the extreme hunger feeling is probably acid. I hope it goes away it was bumming me out earlier. I was praying it wouldn't feel like this forever. Cheers! Will
  2. Hey where you the blonde lady standing at the counter? Talking to Lopez. I am the guy in the room right across from the reception desk. I am wearing a re t-shirt schlepping an IV pole around. My night nurse didn't speak any english so you may want to bring a translation dictionary. I am really suprised no one on this board has mentioned this place because it's awesome. Will
  3. At the Int Hospital in TJ. I have the procedure last evening around 6:30pm by Dr. Osuna. She is a great surgeon and this hospital is awesome. Nice and clean, friendly staff, modern. I have horrible gas today and trying to walk it off. If I sit for to long it get's worse, I also feel ravished I could eat a whole cow. I hope that dimishes. I can't wait to get home and back to my normal life. Cheers! Will
  4. I'm getting calmer as the date get's closer. Just trying to pack sensibly so I don't have a huge case to drag around. Will
  5. Hey NWgal, For sure I'll give you all the details. I found a surgery buddy who will be there the same time as I will so that will be nice. I'm a bundle of nerves right now though. Will
  6. I'll take saggy skin as long as I lose my man boobs! It's either wls or buying a bra. Luckily I have oily native american skin so there is hope things will snap back. I saw a really cool tattoo someone had on their appendectomy scar. It was a closed zipper. Might look cool on stretch marks. Will
  7. June 26th here! Got my plane ticket my passport and ready to go. Still a bundle of nerves but I can't wait. Will
  8. Hahaha.... your funny Jane! I always get a chuckle out of your posts. Or should I say Janezilla! :scared0: Peace. Will
  9. I contacted one of the coordinators of belitweight and she said they come in from and do work at the hospital that Dr. Rod is at.
  10. Interesting. The lesser of two evils I guess. I can't find anything negative on her yet. Will
  11. I think what is confusing is I have been looking at the powder weight lifter stuff. Wyder, etc. When I looked at the ingredients they list a 1000 items and it just got confusing. I'll focus only looking for the Protein, carbs, and calories. Or should I just worry about the amount of Protein and carbs? I'll see if I can snag all the Atkins stuff before someone else gets to it. Otherwise it could be months before the next shipment. Oh, and I am going to get the online samples ordered today. Thanks for all the great stuff. Will
  12. Thanks for the tip Les. I never even thought of doing that! lol I was actually born up here and came back to take care of my elderly mom. I had lived in Vancouver, SF, Palm Springs and then back up here. I love it up here except for the shopping thing. Will
  13. Thanks! I saw that post your referring to already. Seems like there is to much stuff left to go wrong with. I think it's called stomach plication or the super sleeve. A couple of people on the board have posted about it. I would be to scared I would rip the stitches out from stuffing my face to much (give me an inch and I will take a mile). lol... Yeah it might be good to mention it to your friend. It sucks being gay and single. Gay single and overweight is doubly worse. He should do it while he's young and still has his youth to enjoy it. Will
  14. Thanks for the quick reply. Buying online is not a option cause it takes 3-4 weeks to get anything delivered up here. lol.. I might order some and hope they get here by postop. I checked out some of the powder stuff and looked at the ingredients label and go totally confused. I'll check out your thread though. Will
  15. Hi friends, I am going to be starting the preoperative diet soon and was wondering what to look for when buying Protein powder? My instructions are: Any canned Meal Replacement containing at least 20 grams of protein 1 Protein Drink at Breakfast 1 protein drink at lunch Dinner: salad with Protein (chicken, fish, egg, etc), small amount of low fat dressing, or fat free dressing or olive oil and vinegar. 1 protein drink in the evening if needed Because I am in a very remote area I don't have access to a GNC or a heath food store. We have a drugstore a grocery store and a Walmart. Any suggestions on what to look for when shopping, will Boost work (I have seen that in the shops)? Or Atkins? Also I have a months supply of NutriSystem meals. Should I just have one of those for my dinner? Thanks (I'm confused). Will
  16. Thanks for responding. Yes. I considered Aceves but it comes down to price. The airfare from here to there costs almost as much as surgery itself. So, I have narrowed it down to 3 affordable surgeons. Plus my BMI is not as I as some so I am not in the high risk group. I'm a quick healer and considered still healthy. Plus I don't need all the fluff and coddling after surgery so lower cost and no frills is my goal. I think it sucks that gay men put so much emphasis on weight and looks. We fat gay dudes get a double wammy there. I noticed when I was 100lbs lighter I used to get cruised like crazy. Now I'm lucky if they'll tell me the time. lol.. Thank god I have a loving supportive partner so I'm not on the market anymore. Will
  17. Just wanted to say hi from the high arctic. Only now realized there was a GLBT forum not a lot of posts though. I tried private chatting with a couple of women on here but I think they thought I was hitting on them. I can see their point, so I decided to out myself and let you know I am not a creepy fat dude looking for dates. :svengo: I am hoping to have my surgery at the end of June or early July in TJ. If there is anyone out there that has gone to TJ and wants to talk or can settle my nerves please let me know. I am considering Alamanza, Osuna or Ortega. (Yes I have read and reread the posts on Alamanza). Also if anyone is looking for a surgery buddy my schedule is open just waiting on my passport. I am getting flack from my partner about having the surgery. I think he is just freaking out because he cares and thinks I am just fine the way I am. But he is one of those people who can eat a tub of ice cream and half a chocolate cake every evening and not gain an ounce. I don't think he get's it. I on the other hand gain wait just walking by the stuff. I can live on rice cakes only on not drop a pound. I have obesity in my family and can see the pattern. I just don't want to go there. Sorry now I'm just rambling. Thanks and peace. Happy Day Folks! :biggrin0: Will
  18. Anyone use them? I believe they work with Dr. Rod. Looking for any info. Thank you. Will
  19. Congrats mp8btpc! Let us know how it goes. Still waiting on mine. :biggrin0: Will
  20. What a great tool. Thanks Ouroborous. Will
  21. Thanks for the update Swiftflow. I was curious about this myself. Will
  22. Hi, I have been mostly a lurker but have posted a couple of times. I am going to be sleeved in early July by either Dr. Ortega or Alcavez (haven't made up my mind yet). I have a couple of questions I hope I can find a answer to. I take a couple of necessary medication that must be taken with food. Will I be able to do this the after surgery during my liquid phase? I also take numerous Vitamins including a Multivitamin that make me feel barfy unless I have food in my stomach. Will this improve any? Also, I keep hearing about this gas problem. I will have a 14 hour flight after the surgery. Is there anything I should bring with me so I don't gas out the people on the plane? I am hoping having surgery will help with my sensitive stomach and my need to stuff my face all the time to avoid nausea. Any information will be helpful. Thank you. Will
  23. Thanks for all the support. What a wonderful welcome! What a confidence boost. I did get over my anxiety (for now) thanks to Mr. Zanax. lol I made the decision quite awhile ago. I just had to figure out how to do it. I finally saw a program on TV called Fat America or something like that. It was on ABC and was all about the Gastric Sleeve operation. One thing that was odd was that the doctors that they showed doing the procedure were not even wearing surgical masks??? It was also a outpatient procedure. After watching this I started investigating again and found this board. I also found out that you can just go and have it done in another country. I had never even considered that. I thought I would have to wait 5-6 years to have it done here in Canada. I chose a doctor in Mexico and would rather not mention which one as I have seen some heated discussion on here. I have made my decision already and I am happy with it. Thanks for all the posts. Mini-Me I am taking your advice and I am making this about me. I am 45 single and take financial and physical care of my elderly mother, best friend who has had multiple heart attacks, and my single sister and her children. It's been all give, give, give and now it will be about giving to me. My father, brother and grandparents were big 300+. I have always been aware of this and over the years have watched my weight slowly creep up. When I was diagnosed with high cholesterol that was it. I had to do something and diet and exercise alone were not working. I discussed it with my two babies (my two dogs) and we all agreed to I should do this. Cheers! Will
  24. Thanks Tiffany. I think I am having anxiety cause suddenly this is all becoming real suddenly. Kinda like I have finally boarded the boat on a long planned vacation. lol Thanks again for the warm welcome. Will
