  1. Short term pain, long term gain
  2. Come on, you know better than that! : ) We rarely come out ahead when playing the daily scales game : ) Best of luck with your recovery!
  3. Welcome back to Band Land! : )
  4. After the 3rd day, all is going to get better real fast. After a week, I was at 95% of feeling normal. Get walking as soon as you can, it really helps. Best of luck!
  5. Hey, I was banded just 2 days after you! Hope things are going good for you, best of luck!
  6. Congrats! It's been almost a week for me too, I was banded last Friday. As for the shakes, I know what you mean, it does get a little boring after a while, especially since they don't all taste all that great. Plus it's not always super obvious to cram in all the required daily Proteins with those. I heard and read good things about
  7. Wow, can't believe it's finally time for my surgery! Tomorrow Friday is the big day for me, wish me luck! : )
  8. Sorry, mine is covered by my provincial health care plan. My wait was a little longer than yours, about 8 months, but still acceptable. I'm also quite happy with my surgeon. Good luck!
  9. I've been called many things in my life, some of the them not very flattering but I'm pretty sure this is the first time my size is referred to as "fluffy". :smile2: Cheers!
  10. I know that feeling, I did the same a few years ago. The main difference this time is that I can make it permanent... and that's still a concept that's hard to grasp! I can't imagine what it will be like not to have to ask for a seat belt extender, not to be sweaty whenever I have to walk outside on a warm day, not to think twice about it if someone wants me in a picture, not to have to plan a special (dreaded) trip to the big & tall store. Hard to believe I have the chance to make all of this happen and so much more... permanently! :tongue2: Best of luck to you all!
  11. Arrrgh! Forgot about the bloody belt extenders... and I have to take 3 plane trips prior to my July operation. Those I certainly won't miss! : )
  12. @Lovelylady, we'll be one day apart! Best of luck with your adventure! Keep me posted on your progress! @lucybugsmama, congrats on getting approved, that's a major milestone! Let us know how things are going and when you get your date! Cheers! Espresso
  13. Hi Katie! Thanks for the greetings. I hope things are going good with your band. Keep me posted on your progress! Cheers! Espresso
  14. Nice to hear from you Dikotomy! Congrats on your decision and I wish you the very best with your insurance! Keep us posted!
  15. I got my surgery date booked for July 2nd and so far everything looks good (crossing fingers...). What about you guys, anybody else getting banded this coming July? Right now I'm busy soaking up information and I came across some great blogs of people I could relate to. Thanks to them and to the nice people on this forum, while I'm still a little apprehensive I now have a much better understanding of the journey that awaits me. Not to mention some great tricks and recipes! I have some unused vacation time that I'll be taking after the surgery, it should make for an interesting summer! Keep in touch! Peace : )
  16. Hi, I'm new to this site and so far this seems to be one of my best finds for band-related information on my Quest for knowledge. Getting my band in July. Any other fellow July 2010 bandsters around? Best of luck to you all and looking forward to reading you! Cheers!
