My name is Marie and I am just begining my journey.  I am 60 years old.  I weighed 127 when I married my husband of now 43 years and I was the age of 18.  2 children later and a hysterectomy from hip to hip at age 27, left me with no stomach muscles and the rest is year by year history.  Throughout life I sustained several car accidents leaving me with the option of back surgery or epideral shots in my lower back.  So far the shots are working.  A most recent car accident created a surgery fusing some neck vertebrae together.  Needless to say, this weight is effecting my pain levels and I am unable to exercise as much as I would like to due to my injuries.  Through out the years I have developed sleep apneia, High blood pressure and all the extra aches and pains that go along with obesity, not to mention the mental anxietys.  Winters are the worst as I live in a damp climate in Western Washington.  This will be my journey.  I have done much research on the different stomach surgerys and am leaning toward the lap band for several reasons.  Tommorrow May 6th, 2010 is my Dr. consultation and what I precieve to be the 1st day of the rest of my new life for my Golden years.  I seek out support from all of you and will share my journey with all.
