I have researched the Lap Band procedure for 8 years and have bounced around to as many jobs in that time span. It was not until I was hired at BP in Texas City that I had a insurance that covered the surgery (with restrictions that I had to meet) and had a job that would allow me to spend this type of money. I am 4 months into my journey about to start my 800 calorie Opti Fast Diet and should have a firm surgery date by my next Dr visit (5/5/10).I have spent 20 of my 29 years overweight, I was 305 pounds in 7th grade and grew to 315-320 by my graduation in May of 1999. Since then I have bounced up and down with yo yo diets, carb diets, calorie diets, stinking grapefruit diets...everything under the sun. I reached an all time high of 388lbs in 2007 before dropping back down to 310 (only to gain back 35 pounds 6 months later). I'm excited, scared and optimistic about the next few months, I've waited so long for this day and its right around the corner, I hope to have success but I cannot set a real goal weight since I have never actually been thin, I can only pray I am strong enough to not waste this tool for weight loss that I am about to receive.....the adventure begins :)
