  1. So, I am having surgery on Tuesday 4 hours away from home. I am taking my chicken broth with me, but how hungry will I really be the day of the surgery? I know you can't eat before, but what about after...I realize it will only be clear liquids, but what should I expect? Will I want to sleep the majority of the time? We will be in a hotel, so I am kinda concerned about things. To me, it is not ideal to be so far away from home, but I have not choice. Reassurance?

  3. I feel the same way. I am very, very hungry. I do, however, feel restriction after juices and broth, but I am still hungry!! I, unfortunately, have not experienced a loss of appetite. I can't wait until Friday when I can have full liquids. It will be a feast! :bored:
  4. I had mine yesterday. I am so glad that I am able to get around. We went to the bookstore yesterday after surgery! Walking around makes me feel better, and I was so nervous that I would be bedridden. I do have hunger. I have not had the same experience with loss of appetite. After I have a few cups of broth or juice, I get uncomfortable...which is a good thing. I have had trouble urinating, but I have read that it is due to the pain medication. Glad to be going through this experience, and looking forward to what the joy and confidence this will bring to my life! Congratulations to you as well! :bored:
  5. I am having banding surgery on May 4. What is the hardest thing post-surgery? I was not prescribed any special diet except for 24 hours prior, so I am not getting a taste of the new diet so to speak like some. Is the pain after surgery bad? Is it hard to get around? My husband will be at work for 12 hour shifts as a nurse four days in a row after surgery, so I will be left to fend for myself. What about the diet? I just bought my food for the next six weeks, or shall I say my liquid and mush. How hard is it to change? I am really excited to have this opportunity, I am just getting nervous about this huge change in lifestyle. What is the worst part? If the best part is being thin and healthy...perhaps the worst can't be that bad? I just want to be prepared. I need to know the stuff they don't tell you in the brochures. Thanks!
  6. Crap! I fear I might not have taken enough time off of work! I had an emergency c-section, and I had to wait a very long time for any pain meds. I feel like I am fairly tough, but I only took off a week from work. If it is that bad, I will just take off more. I have been reading online where some people took off 3 and 4 weeks, and I just can't be away from my job that long. I have a desk job that requires no physical movement really. My biggest fear is being able to take care of my four year old while my husband is at work. Oh well, I will just have to deal. Thanks for your reply!
