  2. Yes, I totally agree with you, the book is fantastic. I'm almost done with it and I find it the best approach to quit smoking for good. I recommend it to anyone.
  3. Mom, I sent you a personal message on how to reach my friend, the one that went to the same surgeon as you. Check your messages and let me know if you got if okay? Happy 4th!
  4. Congratulations! Thank you for letting us know you're doing well and keep posting please!
  5. You are so sweet Dawn, thank you. I have a friend in oh that went to Dr. Verboonen and had a great experience. She has been out for a year and lost all the weight. One of the happiest sleevers out there. She is also very sweet and answers all your questions. It is because of her that I'm moving forward through this irreversible procedure. Let me know if you would like to talk to her and I'll tell you how. Sincerely, Gloria
  6. Good luck and please keep us posted! Praying for you right now.
  7. I welcome myself to the quitters thread. I smoked most of my life, for at least 30 + years. Because I'm having surgery on July 6th, I have been working on seriously quitting for the past week. Determined not to buy any more cigs and I'll be out of them today. I'm reading The Easy Way for Women to Quit Smoking and it is really helping me, I'm supposed to finish the book today and tomorrow I'm going to place the nicotine patch on and just do it. I recommend the book to anybody that struggles quitting smoking because of the different approach that it contains. Good luck to all the quitters and good luck on you upcoming surgeries. Gloria
  8. I'm going in on July 6th, next Tuesday at 5:00 a.m. I'm nervous and excited at the same time. I'm starting to worry about stupid thoughts like " what if the surgeon has a hang over from the 4th of July party.....? etc. Anyway, I just want this surgery over with because I can't handle being fat any longer. God help me through it without too much pain. Looking forward to stay in touch with all of you. Please keep me in your prayers for Tuesday.
  9. Time goes by so fast! Congratulations
  10. Thank you friends, I'm going to get me some cute little flatware today. My husband will for sure get a kick out of it.
  11. Tiffkins: I'm sorry that I'm not so good using this forum yet. I'm going to go to costco tomorrow for my pre-op shopping and I don't want to miss anything important. What type of over the counter medications or other should I get? What other things am I going to need right post-op? Your advise will be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Gloria
  12. Is either the pain killers or that you're allergic to some medication.

  15. This is for Tiffkins, I'm cigarette smoker. Not in big quantities but about 2 packs a week. Not eating doesn't stress me but quitting smoking for good, I get stressed out just thinking about it. Tiffkins: did you quit smoking for good? did you use the patch? Please throw some good advise this way. Thank you. Gloria
  16. That is fantastic! Do you know why the doctor was able to do the surgery on three cuts only? I would like to request that my doctor try that with me and I have an appointment Thursday with him. Any information about it will be greatly appreciated!
