  1. Been thinking about that 7. I am thinking that is not right at all. I did ask on my last visit and he said most people no more than maybe 6 tops. (unless you are an alien species) Been there like 5 times at least. Last visit he said no fill at all. Maybe in Jan or so, only if needed. I lost 70 lbs so far so I think he is right. (in 6 months) I am down to 169 lbs and counting...It's only been since April 19. But I exercise a lot so maybe that has something to do with this all. Maybe you should get some saline outa there? Call the doc and question him. I flat out ask mine questions like how many time he has messed up, death rate, his re-admissions and hospital and mortality rate, and what mistakes he has made. He admitted that I was one of the few that was "tattooed" with the wrong surgical ink pen. Yeah, 46 and tattooed now. So I just ask him to his face what the "hell" and I actually think he chuckles to himself that I question his abilities and confirmed mistakes. I like his honesty and truthfulness. We are all new to this and make mistakes. I liked that very much. A 7 seems too drastic. Ask this question in another forum and see what people think. You have nothing to loose except those damn carrorts right? lol~ I would say a "4" at 1 month. No more! A 4.5 at two months. Maybe a full cc at 3 months. Wow, you will feel that one so drink only. 4 can't really feel too much except it made a shift and made it more comfy. The 5 put me right. I was thinking more... but he said no. I do need to eat as my long, platinum waist long hair began to fall out. I paid a lot for that platinum head and don't want to lose it. All joking aside--- You should call the doc and question him TO HIS FACE. Not over the phone. I just kinda learn everything the hard way and don't want others to go through the stress.... So do it gurl! :smile2: Let us know what is up with you!
  2. Just the opposite! I can't eat ground/any meat of any kind. Shredded chicken is the worst. Tomatoes hurt too. But for breakfast-- poached eggs and wheat toast with just butter spray. Go figure. So much for meatballs, meatloaf, pork chops and steak. All my favs hurt too much to eat.
  3. Yip! The band has a mind of it's own. You'll see the more they put in the weirder it gets. Some days I can eat like a football player. Other days I can only choke down cottage cheese. I guess your stomach can shift frequently which means sometimes there is a little pouch, other days it is bigger. And yes, it does hurt in your throat -- sometimes bad. Weird huh? The normal fill is somewhere between 4-6 for most people my surgeon said. That takes months. I am wondering why your at a 7 right now. That seems awfully quick. It is supposed to happen over like 4 months or so. Are you sure it is a 7? If there is a model (has 4 or 5 rubber tubes showing restriction levels) in his/her office put your finger in the one that fits your pinky a little tight. That is where you should be.
  4. Wow, how weird. I have to sleep on my box or it isn't comfy. I put a pillow on the right side and put all the pressure/weight on the surgical area. Go figure~ The only way I can sleep. Everyone is different for sure. ha! :smile2:
  5. Lol~ Yip, that's just kinda the way it is now. I don't think I need any more restriction at this point. I am having problems with ground turkey, pork etc. Unless I chew it to death, it ain't-a-going down! I seem to be ok with steak meat although they said I wouldn't be. Of course I am the medical mystery that most people just read about. I have tons of issues that they can't figure out. **sigh** I guess the weirdest thing is that they gave me a permanent tattoo that I kinda don't want. The surgical pen was used and then they stitched/glued over that spot. I have a permanent purple line above the belly button. He said they quit using that pen and are aware of the problem. Go figure. He also said they just do everything through the belly button now. Just one scar. Dang, missed the boat on that one. Glad to know I am not alone! Thanks for making me feel somewhat normal.
  6. Yip, I wait too long to eat and then I can't help to eat fast. It hurts like hell to go down. I mean sometimes it really hurts bad! I will often throw it up, but it's kinda weird how it works for me. No violent throwing up. I can just get it out of my tube easily~ Anyone else able to do this?

    Hunger after band??

Thanks! I got on the scale and hit 200 today. There is a light at the end of the tunnel. I can see it now -- not just hope for it. I won't be embarrassed at my daughter's high school graduation on next Thursday. (I work for there and will see everyone for the first time since Feb.) I wanted to make her proud of her mom. For some reason my doc only does fills one day per month. So, I will get my fill way later than most people. Until then, let the tummy rumbles continue...

    Hunger after band??

Yogurt is just like liquid. I used to mix my Protein powder into it. It helped a lot but it's all about the fill now. My doc said I would get really really hungry about 2 weeks from my first fill. Man, I hate it when he is right! hahaha~ Still have manged to kill off 40 lbs and no fill yet. Looks like it might be even easier--- soon.
  9. Will the insurance pay for a lift? I was hoping that it could be medically necessary because sores can happen underneath when ya get the weight off. Anyone know about that?

    Hunger after band??

Wow, that would be cool if I got my first fill and was not hungry. Can't even imagine that! I think you have a magic wand hidden somewhere... LOL~

    Hunger after band??

We will always be hungry if we don't eat. That's the bottom line right? There is no miracle about to happen. You will be hungry but just fill up faster. Hunger will never go away. If that were the case, you would die from malnutrition. Common sense stuff....

when can I eat food again?

I did the liquids after surgery for around a week. Then started on soft food, not mush! Within like 5 days I was eating anything I wanted except red meat and bread. I am not into sweets/soda so that wasn't an issue. I won't have a fill for more than 6 weeks after I had my surgery-- so June 1st. Might as well eat what I want as long as it is healthy. Waiting to eat is kinda crazy. Especially is there is no restriction. Yip, eggs don't need to be mushed. They get mushed in your mouth anyway. Just my 2 cents!
  13. Besides, what if there is a small leak/hole and you sink to the bottom of the sea? hahahhaha! Call the doc's office. I am sure that they have been asked that lots of times! Have a blast on vacation~
  14. I thought that the surgery for weight loss would surely save my life. It has, but in a way I didn't think possible. While in surgery, my doctor found a tumor on my stomach. He said I was very lucky that he was in there while it was small. Most people don't know about tumors/cancer until it is kinda too late. Can you even believe it? My surgery has given me all that much more reason to get healthy so I can live a long life!

    Tumor on stomach

Awww.. thanks everyone~ Just thought I would share the story.

    Tumor on stomach

Yip, he cut that puppy off and it went to the lab. I guess when that kind of tumor grows it is usually cancerous. Still got my band.. I was a happy camper at my post op appointment!
  17. Cottage cheese and yogurt if your starving. It kinda liquidizes (is that a word? lol) anyway. Just no bread or red meat for sure.
  18. No stitches. Must say, he did and awesome job. The scars are really minimal~ I am not sure about the sea Water but I can tell you I had an open wound and went swimming in a salt water pool. The worst infection I ever had. 3 weeks in the hospital. The beach water is really filthy if you think about it. I would def ask your doctor about that idea.
  19. I could never afford that stuff (when the kids were growing up) so it never was a problem to watch people just sit and eat. Now that they are grown, I just figure all of those people are wasting money and giving themselves heart disease. We all made the change to be healthier right? Gonna live 100! lol~
  20. I am eating just about everything. No stress... until he starts putting the saline in I guess. Didn't even have to mush up food after the 7 day liquid diet. It's only been a week but I am ready for a fill already. I doubt he will do it though.
  21. I would love to own a pair of perky little C's again. **Sigh** Reminds me of my twenties..
  22. Just wondering about the weird little pains going on. Band slippage or normal? Any help would be appreciated!
  23. Thanks. Yes, I am going in for that Barium test Monday morning to make sure all went well. I am sure they could tell from the X Ray. I guess I am a worry wart!
  24. You made my day! Too funny. I can't wait for my underwear to fall off... hahhah!
  25. Thanks for the support and advice! I took a long time to get this heavy. I am sure it will take a long time to get where I need to be too. I am SO looking forward to a healthier lighter life!
