I was told by Dr to only eat 1/2 cup at a time.3 hrs between but if I felt full befor 1/2 cup stop. I have to admit though when I eat soup I do eat alot more than 1/2 cup. As for the Burping I had that Problem For first 8 mo. really loud burps starting from deep in my stomach Dr said to try to learn to breath out through the nose while swallowing. Really hard to do but it really helps.
I had just started losing really fast at Christmas and we took a trip to Mexico. I wanted to have a slight unfill but opted not to because things wrer finally going well with the weight loss. The day we left things wrer great but when we went to dinner I noticed my band seemed alot tighter. About 1 hr later we had to stop on the side of the interstate so I could Throw up.It only got worse from there. The first 4 days of our trip I could not eat anything sometimes water would even come back up.I was miserable. I sipped cofee in the mornings and water the rest of the day but just had to sit and watch the rest of the family eat when we went for meals. I wish I would have unfilled I would havw gained Im sure but it couldnt have been so much I would have been to discouraged. I lost 10lbs in 7 days but i would have enjoyed my self more if I could have eaten something. Next trip I plan on getting a unfill I know I can Start Over when I get home. If you decide to stay filled just make sure you stay on top of the water drinking I think that is what started my ordeal.
i to have had this happen several time then usually I will drop 5lbs the next time i step on the scale. ive learned to increase my calories for a few days then drop them back down and that seems to help alot.
I just wanted to say I to feal like I was a failier I have had my band a little over 2 years I lost about 36lbs then after I was laid off from my job I gained that back plus 50 more. I feel like I just started over this Nov. when I decided I had enough. I am determined to do this! I went in for a fill 43lbs heavier than the day I had my surgery. I was so embarrasing:blushing: the Dr was more understanding than I thought he would be. Now Im down 91lbs as of 5/5 So dont give up you can get back on track and do it:thumbup:Just keep at it. its not as easy as some think it is with this band.
i had to move on to thidker liquids early on because i to felt very hungry and sooo tired of jello and apple juice try some tomato soup or cream of chicken. My friend had the surgery 6 mo. before me and she suggested potato soup. that was the real life saver.
Im 2 years out and have the same issue before lap band winter and summer I froze the husband and kids to death and now Im cold or comfortable and they are burning up.
I just wanted to say hello to everyone I have been reading on the forum since my surgery in Dec. 2007 but this is my first time to post.I just wanted to share my story a little so here it goes. I had my surgery at 334lbs and lost 15 the first 2 weeks post op :smile:Then struggled up and down 10lbs here and there then I was laid off from my job and gained all back and more:thumbdown: I was at my highest weight ever @376lbs when I guess I had the aah!haa! moment I should have had a year earlier. Better late than never! Now Im on track and have lost 95lbs since Nov this year:smile::bored: I almost gave up and had my band removed because I was not losing the weight I wanted to. Now I realize my band was not the problem It was my head all along and I had to use the band to help me and not wait on It to do the job itself. So to anyone discouraged out there I understand and can say you are notalone just hang in there and make it happen for yourself
