  1. Hi Everyone I am new here and have trolled the site and I am so glad there is a place for my questions. I had a gastric bypass 10 years ago and I am now back up to 280 pounds. I was denied a lap band by Kaiser or any other secondary surgery for that matter. My questions is, I am actually starting work at Healthnet tomorrow and my primary goal has been to have band over bypass. I will have all these choices of their insurance to go with and not really no which one is best from this stand point, weight loss surgery I mean!! If anyone has any insight I would appreciate it. 3. They say 2nd time is a charm don't they, or is it 3rd time? Well it's 3 in the orning and I sit here searching the site for info on lap band, excited at the thought that this will work. Gastric bypass worked for me for about a year, then I worry, will I mess up and will this be the same and work for a year too? I want to be normal for life.... I want my weight to be stable, I am sick of the yo yo diets and the new sets of clothes when the weight changes...AGAIN. Will I be given a second chance??

  5. I originally had gastric bypass done 8 years ago and lost about 50lbs which I have since gained back. I am now with Kaiser Socal and trying to get LAP-BAND® and I am wondering what my chances are if having already had another surgery through a different provider years ago... Any thoughts?? I am 5' 4", 261lbs and having all the same complaints I originally had befoer my first surgery. I'm just worried that Kaiser won't do the surgery because it's a pre-existing condition or something.
