  1. Help! I want to put up a profile picture! How do I do this?
  2. Goodness no! A small chili from Wendys only has 220 calories in it! 18 grams of protein, 7 grams of fat, and 22 grams of carbs. If you only ate half... you would only be eating about 110 calories. That should definitely not make you gain weight. You'll be fine!
  3. Hello! I just wanted to let you all know that I'm a "nonbeliever" too!
  4. Christie! This is awesome! We will be sleeved around the same time... (I'm getting mine in Monday, 5/24) We can go on this journey together!
  5. Okay, so I started my preop diet yesterday. I was wondering if I could have bean broth from pintos? I've looked everywhere for the calorie content and I can't find it. Does anyone know if bean broth is okay to eat?
  6. Today is my last day to eat real food. I start my preop diet tomorrow. I am going to eat all of my favorite foods today! For breakfast, I am having a piece of cheesecake and a mocha frap... for lunch, Mexican food, and for dinner I am going to a steakhouse! Don't lecture me... I know these are terrible choices, but I'm (thankfully) never gonna be able to eat like this again :sad0: Happy Monday!
  7. we have very similar starting stats! I'm 5'7, 255. It's good to know someone my size had such fast/ great results:)
  8. I know that Target sells soda flavored ice pops. They have Diet Dr. Pepper, Diet Sunkist, and another one that I can't remember right now. If you are really craving the flavor, you could try those. I know a girl who was addicted to diet dr. pepper, and she used the ice pops to satisfy her cravings! Hope this helps!
  9. thank you! all of you have reinforced my plans to go along with the surgery. I don't want to waste valuable years of my life being overweight with no confidence.
  10. What is a boughie? My surgeon never mentioned it to me. I haven't had my surgery yet and I have another appt next Monday, so maybe we will discuss it then. I was just wondering.
  11. I'm pretty young to be getting VSG. (I'm 18... they require you to be 18). My parents DO support me. And I really want to have the surgery! Others have just told me that I am too young. What are your thoughts? If given the option, would you have had the surgery at a younger age (if weight was a serious issue for you at that young age)?
  12. Okay! Thanks for the reviews. I will definitely give it a try
  13. thanks so much! I did start one and the url is: VSG Journey! I would love to get some followers
  14. Hi all, Just wondering if any of you ever attended overeaters anonymous? There is a meeting close by and I was considering going to help me deal with my eating problem in conjunction with my sleeve. I couldn't tell from the website whether it cost or not. Did you like it/ did it help? Are there any other support groups you would recommend? Thanks- Elly
  15. thanks for the support :tongue_smilie:
  16. :001_cool I started a blog! VSG Journey! It will be about my sleeve and weight loss journey. If you are on blogger, please "follow" me so that I can follow you! I would love to build up a network of support. Thanks :smile1:

Recent pictures... obviously before surgery since my surgery isn't scheduled until 5/24/10
  19. Okay, I have my surgery date and I am super excited! However, I was on the phone with my sister (who is supportive of the surgery!) and she raised some hard questions that I was unable to answer. She asked me how I was going to change my relationship with food. I told her I was going to go to support group and counseling. And, that will help. However, I spend a lot of time actively seeking out food and eating. What am I going to do with all of my newfound free time since I won't be eating as much? What did you guys do? How did you get over your obsession with food?
  20. Hello everyone! My surgery is scheduled for 5/24/2010 Anyways, I really want to start a blog about my journey. I want the blog to be accessible to family and friends... not just other VSG patients. Are there any websites that you guys recommend? I have never blogged before. Do any of you have blogs that I can look at? Thanks for any tips in advance  And... I just realized I posted this in the wrong place!! I'm sorry!
  21. haha; thank you for clearing that up for me
  22. Thanks for your replies! I know I can do it, I am just really nervous about it! I just got off the phone with my surgeon's assistant, and I have a date: May 24, 2010 =D I am super excited! I am glad to hear others share(d) my same fears.
  23. NSV is an abbreviation for what? I keep seeing it on WLS websites and can't figure out its meaning...
  24. After much debate, I have decided to go ahead with the VSG. I will be calling my doctor tomorrow to schedule a surgery date. I am paying for the surgery myself, and am really worried about not being able to find my will power to stay on track. I don't want to waste all this money. Your thoughts? Did you need will power after the surgery? Was it easy to find?
